@Kris Okay, that is interesting. I didn’t mean for Raynes to be so old he doesn’t remember his youth. I meant he doesn’t remember his youth because of trauma/PTSD, and I was also speculating on how long he might have been living the Batman life. It’s less than fifty years since the refugee influx from Morrowind really started, so he could have even been born there. That’s the other part of the line about his parents’ death — “the wagon they rode in on”, as if they died on the journey.
But now I’m wondering who are really the oldest elves we know in Skyrim. The alchemist in Windhelm is one of them. Erandur might be another although I’m not sure if we know how long ago the events were that we find out about at Nightcaller.
