Dunmer can live a pretty long time–Barenziah lived like four hundred years.
I like the idea that Elves can live a long time, enough to have past selves they can’t even remember.
From a technical standpoint, it’s also cool that they can live long enough to be in the next TES game, regardless of when it’s set. One of Anum-La’s old company happens to be a Wood Elf, so it would be nice to tie a future mod to the old one without resorting to a daughter’s nephew’s cousin.
